Dear friends and colleagues,

As a contribution to the 2008 Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and at
the request of several stakeholders (states, industry, civil society),
the Council of Europe has agreed to host a European-wide, open-ended,
multi-stakeholder dialogue and exchange on the main thematic discussions
and workshop proposals for the IGF, in particular on fostering security,
privacy and openness on the Internet.

This exchange will take place on 20 and 21 October in Strasbourg, Agora
Building, Council of Europe.

In this regard, I would kindly ask you to circulate this preliminary
information, including the attached flyer, to encourage interest and
attention. Moreover, your support in helping to prepare this event would
be most welcome.
